What a gift this word is. Thank you for posting about it, and for pointing me toward Ms. Harris's blog. I've enjoyed her writing (not just the Southern Vampire books, but her other series as well). While I think Eric Northman as portrayed by Alexander Skarsgard is yummy; I think I prefer Sam in the books.Earthbound Spirithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14042611502142798184noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467092921624269928.post-15828520559777114822012-09-28T09:13:51.984-04:002012-09-28T09:13:51.984-04:00Thanks for your comments, and blessings on your wr...Thanks for your comments, and blessings on your writing! Critique comments are so challenging, but they do get easier to read (at least I've found they do), and they almost always make for better writing.

And yes, Eric Northman. *sigh*revlauriebrockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07678346331976194571noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467092921624269928.post-45522909556111940562012-09-28T00:31:29.470-04:002012-09-28T00:31:29.470-04:00I love this post and the careful distinctions you&...I love this post and the careful distinctions you're drawing. Finding it tonight is serendipitous, as like Charlaine Harris, I write vampire novels. At the moment I'm working through critique comments on my novel in progress. Truthful feedback on one's writing can be a painful, beautiful gift, and receiving it well is a spiritual discipline. The exchange of this kind of truth is very holy, and I since I began writing, I find myself wishing that level of truly constructive, no string attached truth telling, existed in church more often. I didn't know Ms. Harris is an Episcopalian, but clearly divine inspiration sparked the creation of Eric Northman.
